Charleston County's Freedom of Information Act Request Center has provided the public the right to request access to records. You can use this portal to submit a FOIA request, track the status of a request, and download responsive documents. Creating an account allows you to view and download previously released responsive records. By submitting as a guest, you will be submitting a one-time request and will not be able to access your history of previous requests.

Charleston County does NOT handle FOIA requests for law enforcement. You will need to contact the responding agency for incident reports and dash camera footage. If the Charleston County Sheriff's Office is the responding agency, information about FOIA requests can be found here.

All Media must select “Media Request” under category regardless of the nature of the request.
